I started working with postoperative cosmetic plastic surgery patients back in 2010, and I felt completely out of my depth! Yes, I was a qualified lymphoedema and scar tissue therapist but working with postop patients was a whole different ball game!

I didn't understand what happened to the body during surgery, or the potential risks and complications that can occur, despite all my previous training and experience. I often felt overwhelmed and worried that the treatments I gave someone who had just been through the massive trauma of a plastic surgery procedure might be detrimental to their recovery. Not helping it.

Fortunately, I was working in London Bridge Plastic Surgery where the lead surgeon and clinical nurse specialist were always at hand to answer my queries, allay my fears, and give me confidence. Being in the operating theatre and observing the various procedures gave me valuable insight into what happens during surgery. And eventually, my confidence grew to the point I knew I was benefiting our patients' recovery and optimising the results of their surgical procedure.

Now, after almost twenty years of working in healthcare alongside some of the United Kingdom's leading specialists in the fields of Oncology, Dermatology, Lymphoedema, Venous Disease, and of course Plastic and Reconstructive surgery I want to share all that combined knowledge and experience with you.
