When I started working with postoperative cosmetic plastic surgery patients back in 2006, I felt completely out of my depth!
I didn't understand what happened to the body during surgery, or the potential risks and complications that can occur. I often felt overwhelmed and worried that the treatments I provided might be detrimental to a postoperative patient's recovery. Not helping it.
Fortunately, I was working in London Bridge Plastic Surgery where the lead surgeon and clinical nurse specialist were always at hand to answer my queries and allay my fears.
